Ulano does not support computer programs like CorelDRAW, Illustrator, Photoshop
or PowerRIP. We do support our Ulano brand inkjet films. The Ulano version
of PowerRIP is calibrated for our Dye or Pigment inkjet films and lists
the profile in the media choices.
CorelDRAW
X3 Roll Film Quirk
Roll film PowerRIP customers have discovered that, IF you use a custom page size AND roll-feed,
the printer will not switch to roll-mode. This is caused by a bug in CorelDRAW
X3. The workaround is to un-check the "Use PPD" box under those circumstances.
The orientation behaves differently when you un-check the "Use PPD" box
so you might want to pause the output queue .
To Pause Output
Click on
"Outputs" then select PowerRIP Output Queue 1 (or whatever queue
is appropriate) and click the "Pause" button. To un-pause, same
procedure except click the "Resume" button. and view the page
using PowerRIP's preview function.
Preview Function
In the tab marked "Processed Jobs", double-click the job, then click on
the page number in the "Pages" box.
Corel assures us that this problem will be resolved in the next release
X4.

PowerRIP ScreenPrint is a PostScript Level 3 compatible RIP for creating
digital halftone film positive output, and color proofs on supported EPSON
inkjet printers with piezo print heads. PowerRIP rasterizes Postscript data
from graphic programs, such as CorelDraw, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign,
Freehand and Quark. PowerRIP controls screen angles, screen frequency and
dot shape, as well as precise density control. PowerRIP and standard photo
Epson inks achieve 3.0+ UV density.
PowerRIP ScreenPrint Ulano Edition installs like any printer driver. Once

What is your return policy for software?
We offer a FREE working version download of PowerRIP ScreenPrint
with a watermark for screen printers to use before validating. If the
software is validated, there is no way for us to reactivate the Product
Code and resell it. . This is why everyone should install a free trial version
before validating.
An RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) must be obtained from
iProof Systems Technical Support Department before you return PowerRIP
for a refund. The complete package must be returned, including all
validations. All returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee.
Is there a Demo version?
A fully functional version of PowerRIP Screenprint is available
for download, but it will print a watermark of the word "PowerRIP" in your
output. This is the exact same version of the program on the disc. When
you get tired of the watermark, you have to buy a serial number to remove
it. Once you have validated your copy of PowerRIP, it is not returnable.

I
have Apple and Windows computers and several printers, how many copies do
I need to purchase?
One! PowerRIP is network ready. You can connect your computers via Ethernet
and print to any supported network EPSON printer. You should use a
Windows computer as a server for your Apple and Windows computers on
your network.
If you only use Apple computers, it is a simple networking procedure to
share the PowerRIP printer driver with the other computers on your
network.
Before you start to install, choose a Windows computer that will serve
the other the other Windows or Apple computers, and install the PowerRIP Server using
"Install/Remove/Repair PowerRIP ScreenPrint" from the autorun menu.
You do have to activate PowerRIP later with special codes, but there are no USB dongles.
All the drivers for both operating systems and Epson printers are on the Windows disc, but, the
Windows version needs to be used as the print server for the Apple computers.
To connect other computers on your network to the Server, use the PowerRIP
disc but select "Connect Workstations to PowerRIP ScreenPrint".
Does Ulano PowerRIP run on printers connected
by network (even on the trial version)?
Yes, all of the PowerRIP products work in a network environment. PowerRIP
can be stand alone, or RIP servers simultaneously. The inkjet printer must
be shared over the network, as a network printer and connected users must
be registered and have rights. This is the basic way it works for Windows
and Apple networking. PowerRIP does not assign the rights. The operating
systems (Windows or Apple), allows remote users to print to local printers.
What
is PostScript and why do I need a PostScript RIP?
PostScript is a programming language optimized for printing graphics and text.
A PostScript RIP (Raster Image Processor) converts the output from your application
into an image allowing you to utilize a non PostScript printer for high quality
color and sharp, legible type.
Is PowerRIP user friendly?
Yes it is. iProof designed the options so they are intuitive. If you do
not have time to read the manual, you can still use PowerRIP.
Will PowerRIP increase my printer speed?
Unfortunately, no. PowerRIP actually does more processing than a standard
printer driver as it converts your Postscript output into language that
the EPSON printer can understand. More ink will be deposited and at 1440
or 2880 dpi, that also takes longer. Many factors contribute to printing
speed including the speed of your computer, amount of RAM in your computer,
connection type and complexity of your file.
