DFP 74 Direct to Fabric Printer

HeatWave DFP-74 Features

1. High Speed Printing

Based on Roland’s HeatWave sublimation technology, the new HeatWave DFP-74 direct-to-fabric digital printer is a complete solution that prints directly onto polyester fabrics and other substrates for flawless results.  The system features precision media handling components and an advanced on-board sublimation unit that together ensure outstanding image quality and rich, saturated colors for flags, banners, textiles and soft signage that maintain their natural drape and texture.

The DFP-740 was built for high-speed, high-volume production. Featuring eight piezo inkjet print heads, the DFP-740 prints at a maximum speed of 548 sqft./hr. at 270x360 dpi resolution. This high-speed mode is perfect for professional quality T-shirts, textiles, and much more. In addition, the DFP-740 offers a range of print speeds and image resolutions including high-quality 720x720 dpi mode.

2. Advanced Maintenance System

Many high-volume sublimation printers require daily maintenance in order to correctly perform. The FP-740 takes virtually no time. Its automated maintenance system performs routine maintenance, eliminating many time-consuming manual maintenance tasks. As a result, manual cleaning is only recommended every two weeks.

3. Advanced Media Handling

The DFP-74 feautes an intelligent media handling system that communicates directly with the motherboard to ensure complete control of the media.  The system features two precision stepping motors that automatically fine tune the media feeding process to ensure precise movements with every pass of the printer. Once printed, the media passes through a temperature-controlled heating system equipped with an infra-red thermometer. This advanced system monitors every phase of the heating process and makes adjustments to the temperature automatically to insure images cure quickly and evenly.

4. Bulk Ink System

The HeatWave BU-1 high-capacity ink system and SBL2 sublimation inks together support long, unattended production runs and deliver outstanding colorfastness to DFP-740 sublimated graphics. As the company’s newest and most advanced HeatWave ink formulation, SBL2 images exceptionally well on lightweight, flexible fabrics for vivid color flags, banners and textiles that are easy to handle, inexpensive to ship, and safe to install.

HeatWave SBL2 ink produces rich, high-density colors and dries quickly. Its advanced formulation creates a very fine dot pattern for maximum ink transfer to the final fabric. As a result, graphics sublimated with HeatWave SBL2 reflect flawless, even ink coverage and deep, vivid colors with absolutely no banding.
